CEMEF, centre of excellence

CEMEF, which stands for Centre de Mise en Forme des Matériaux, or Centre for Material Forming, is a leading research centre in the field of material forming.

CEMEF's organization chart

The research centre was created in 1974 and is located in the Sophia Antipolis science park, near Nice in the south of France .  
 
It is a research laboratory of Mines ParisTech and has been associated with CNRS, the French National Science Foundation since 1979. As a laboratory of Mines ParisTech, it is part of Institut Carnot-Mines.

Its research contracts are managed by Armines association.

Its software programmes are marketed by the scientific software publishers, Transvalor and Sciences Computers Consultants.

Its educational programmes and activities are evaluated by an Industrial Guidance Committee each year.

On January 1st, 2008, it has 164 people.
