CEMEF is located on the French Riviera in the Sophia Antipolis technopark, 20 km from Nice, 20 km from Cannes and 10 km from Antibes.

Public transport

• Between Nice and Sophia: bus No. 230 “Sophia Express”
  The journey lasts approximately 40 minutes. The bus stop for CEMEF is "Sophie Laffitte", located 20 m from CEMEF.

• The nearest railway station is at Antibes .
  From there, you will need to take the Envibus bus No. 1 to get to CEMEF.
  The bus stop is "Sophie Laffitte", located 20 m from CEMEF.
  
  The No. 100 Express line also goes to Sophia Antipolis.
  Get off at the " CERAM " bus stop, located about 300 m from CEMEF.

Catering

Staff at the Ecole des Mines can use a company restaurant, a two-minute walk away.
A university restaurant exists on the Sophia Antipolis campus, 3 km from the Ecole des Mines.
Tickets for the restaurant are for sale on site upon presentation of a student card.
There is also a space set aside for staff members who wish to bring in their own lunch.

Sport and culture

Outside activities are particularly easy in the area :

• walking and mountain biking in the Sophia Antipolis forest surrounding the Ecole des Mines
• nautical sports and beach volley at the sea, a 15-minute drive away
• skiing, hiking and snowshoe hiking in the mountains, an hour and a half away.

The region has a number of cultural facilities (theatres, café-theatres, opera, concert halls, museums, etc.) and sports facilities (clubs, sports halls, etc.)

Students at the Ecole des Mines run the association, Mines Sport Valbonne (MSV).
MSV proposes regular and occasional activities to all staff members.
There are opportunities to play volleyball, football, basketball, mountain biking, juggling, theatre, choral singing, and more.
Excursions are also organised for activities like go-karting, canyoning, sailing, hang-gliding, the Sophia Games, concerts and plays.
