Industrial chair in BioplasticsMINES ParisTech and CEMEF launched an education chair in Bioplastics.Environmental concerns and problems related to fossil dependence have created a new potential for biomass-based plastics. The industrial chair in Bioplastics will study their processing and properties. First, bioplastics with long life-time will be considered. The industrial chair will set up a pole of excellence, combining research and education. The chair will work in a close collaboration with the European Polysaccharide Network of Excellence (EPNOE), coordinated by CEMEF. EPNOE combines European expertise on natural polymers, such as cellulose, starch and other polysaccharides. CEMEF has a long lasting experience in the area of biomass-based polymers. >> report on biomass-based polymers science and engineering studies in CEMEF (.pdf) >> see the article on the chair in Bioplastics in number 31 (April 2010) of “Innovation & Industrie” (.pdf) The chair is co-financed by MINES ParisTech and partner companies Arkema, L'Oréal, Nestlé, PSA, Schneider Electric, for a six-year period. > scientific contact : : |
