Research in bioplastics

The objectives of the chair is to advance the knowledge on bioplastics, such as their Physico-chemical, rheological, thermal and mechanical properties. The chair aims to develop new materials, their processing ways and their applications.



Research fields :


    • influence of intrinsic properties of biomass-based polymers on their processing
    • development of new materials and their applications
    • physical and numerical modelling
    • study of new processing routes

Six Ph.D. projects and several internships are planned in the frame of the chair in Bioplastics. The topics are as follows :

A post-doctoral project started in october 2013 on exploring polymer-algae composites.
